It's the same tease every year. The local paper prints our wish list. The front office drops hints they will be players in the bidding wars. And then......the market passes them by and the front office rationalizes it away.

I don't think you are going to hear anything publicly if he signs elsewhere. That will not mean that they weren't in on him. When we know the number, we will know how high they weren't willing to go.

The Wieters signing is an example of a new kind of thinking by Angelos. It illustrates that he's willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. If it is going to cost us 7/$147 ($21/yr) or 6/$132 ($22/yr), I don't see Angelos walking away without getting the last word. The post-Belle Angelos years are no more. I see PA taking out the wallet and having no 2nd thoughts.
