I'm going to make a bold prediction here, and say that this whole thing comes to an end today, unless it doesn't! :laughlol:

Seriously though, the one thing that bothers me (a LOT) about the "no news is good news theory" is that even if MacPhail is THAT good at keeping things tight within the warehouse, you'd have to think it would be in Boras' best interest to leak the Orioles offer to the media. Boras keeping the Orioles' offer a secret does him no good. That scares me a lot, and makes me believe that what we have heard IS correct and only the 7/140-150 deal is out there.

The ONLY way I am staying positive right now is because I have therorized that last Thursday, Boras told Boston that Tex is going to Baltimore and they are just waiting for an offer. He may have also made the same remarks to the Angels yesterday, and it could be why the Nationals are also not confident in getting him. This theory has too many holes, so that's why I am nervous with the thoughts of paragraph one up there!

Unless our best offer has yet to be proposed and has merely been expressed something like: the best offer you get +10%.

I really do think that he will be a fine #9 hitter. If he gets on base, the lineup turns over, and, whaddayaknow, another switch-hitter comes up in Brian Roberts.

In my opinion, to say that one guy would hurt a lineup and make them "not scary", is pretty rediculous. Every lineup in MLB has a weak link. If Izturis is that weak link for the O's, then so be it.

You guys are testy! I am all on board for Izturis as SS. Just saying all those switch hitters aren't completely scary when one of them is Izturis.
