What is your likeliest to least likeliest #1 seed to fall this weekend

1. UConn

2. Pitt

3. Louisville

4.UNC

I think Missouri and Nova have shots to realistically pull it off. Oklahoma and Mich St not so much.

Did you really expect anything less when two BEasts match up? ;)

Yes, with the way Pitt has played so far in the tourney.

What a fantastic game though. They just kept throwing haymakers back and forth Reynolds, Cunningham, etc for Nova and Young, Blair, Fields etc for Pitt. Just an incredible game. The NoVa boy Scottie Reynolds wins it in the end.

Classic tournament game, where the Elite 8 usually tends to provide some of the great ones. Just recently off the top of my head, Carolina-Georgetown in '07, George Mason-UCONN (I was there!) in '06, and Arizona-Illinois in '05.

This might have been the best of them all, honestly, in terms of the level of play of both teams. Just a great, great basketball game.

The pride of Herndon High, Scottie that is. And it was a great game. Glad I stayed home to watch it.

GREAT GREAT Basketball game. One of those "it's a shame someone had to lose" types. Congrats to Villanova.

Agreed... Games like that are why I love College Basketball... It is great to get that into games where I really didn't have a rooting interest for either team.

Agree 100%.

Best game of the tournament by far, and the best-played game by both teams that I've seen in quite some time.

One of the best tourney games I've seen.

I'm watching the Pitt press conference now, and man, i feel bad for those kids. I did have 'Nova in my Final Four, so for pride I was rooting for them, but I didn't have much rooting interest otherwise.

Interesting note, IF Carolina wins tomorrow, an ACC team has not beaten a Big East team in the Final Four since 1982.

Reminds me of what DeJuan Blair was saying about the Big East vs the ACC:

"The Big East is going to be tough, no matter what," said Pittsburgh's DeJuan Blair, a 6-foot-7, 265-pound big man who was the conference's co-player of the year. "The ACC — you really can't compare them. They're like rocks and cotton. We're just toughness, we're not finesse players."

As much as I'd love to see the BEast have success in the Final Four the game I am hoping for (if both teams can advance tomorrow) is Louisville / UNC.

Great, great piece of coaching by Jay Wright. After a terrible inbounds play kept Pitt in the game. He calls his final timeout and draws up a beautiful play to get the ball in his scorer's hand with the defense off balance. Brilliant.

I'm not a Big East guy, but this conference was really been the Big Deal this year. Three number ones, and a possibility of three Final Four teams. Remarkable.

That's who I have going for the championship with UNC winning. Honestly though with Nova making the final four I am definitely going for them regardless of my bracket's status. I probably would just want my bracket to work out if I didn't have a connection to Nova but I want Reynolds to go all the way.

    • Did we ? You can’t possibly know that. Apparently, Elias got a player he thought he could fix.  Sorry but I just don’t think Rogers is as good as Irvin with his diminished stuff. I think he’s essentially a throw away. It would be wise to extend Eflin now while we still can. That way the resources used to get him can actually provide some long term value. Dominguez was an ok pickup…I don’t hate the deal. Problem is we needed a closer and he’s isn’t that. Thankfully Bautista is returning and will push him down the depth chart a slot or two. Soto ….Agreed, you bring him back if you can’t find a better option. I expect them to keep him. Otherwise, giving up Seth Johnson with our minors pitching quality shortage looks like a bad decision  Eloy didn’t cost much …. My general thought is pick ups like him didn’t matter beyond how you grade those acquisitions on a team that “Really Wanted to Win”. I question this because none of the guys that we picked up where having good seasons elsewhere. My thoughts are the same for Rivera …. He was a 563 OPS in Miami but got hot here and was a .948 here. His career OPS is .676 so his stint here is probably not repeatable. His projected arb number is 1.4 million so they likely keep him around as a piece and he’s young enough that maybe the change in scenery caused the light to come on.   By the way … here’s a piece from Roch about sone of these guys.   https://www.masnsports.com/blog/taking-another-look-at-orioles-roster-decisions
    • This has to count as one of the, if not the, biggest choke in ALCS history. Up 5-3 with two outs and no one on in the ninth, after you came back from 1-3 in the eight, with a chance to put a lock on the series.
    • Reverse jinx works again! 😆 🥳
    • Clay Holmes' agent could have used the season ending a good couple months ago. It was nice seeing a chink in Luke Weaver's armor.    Gunnar Henderson v. Anthony Volpe is kind of a centerpiece of Mike Elias mostly out-General Managing Brian Cashman the last half decade, but Luke Weaver v. Craig Kimbrel is not a good chapter and flipping those two guys might have changed the 2024 division.
    • I have all sorts of credit cards that charge interest because they provide me with tens of thousands of dollars in free interest. That said, I never pay interest, because I always pay off the balance each month.
    • My friend and I each had flex plans. Him $2500 and me $1300. Neither of us renewed. Are schedules are too difficult to commit to a set plan and the lack of perks for the lower-tier set plans and flex plans make it not worth letting the Os earn the float on our money.
    • I was going to post Ride the Lighting from Metallica but decided not to. I now regret that decision.
