I wonder if it isn’t an injury, but an adjustment he’s trying to make to avoid more blisters. Maybe he’s trying to use a different grip on some of his pitches, or he’s using something on his hand that’s causing the ball to slip out a little bit. Just a thought.
The other thing I really hated about him is that he’d flare up like a bad case of herpes when the Orioles were doing bad. Ugly loss? He’d be there. A few losses in a row? He’d post a lot saying I told you so. Jackson Holliday off to a bad start? He was all over that.
I was trying to keep up with the game thread and came across the politics. It sickened me so I just shut the thread down for the day. We got a win today and the hangout also got a win.
There is a reason why Martin Maldonado had a 14 year MLB career. It’s not because of his .203 career batting average. We just saw Austin Hedges with his .187 career batting average last week in Cleveland. Nobody said to give catchers the same credit as pitchers but it is something. Eflin had a 4 ERA when we traded for him. Grayson’s was 3.86 before he was injured. We aren’t talking about Zito, Mulder and Hudson here.
Yankees play a DH tomorrow. It’s hard to sweep a DH, so I’m expecting a split. Burnes is throwing for BMore so unless the defense plays hacky-sack again, we’ve got a good chance.
