I enjoyed writing the article and appreciate the kudos.

I think this draft will be interesting for several reasons. First, it appears to be a wide open draft - so we'll see how Joe Jordan does. I like how he maneveurs around a draft with guys who slipped, a late riser, etc. Second, a safe pick like Matusz allows some chances later on, but we may not go the safer route with a college player in the first round. Third, we spent $1M above slot last year and had offers to go another $500k-$1M on guys like Brady, Martin and Landers. If we go $1.5+M above slot after the fifth round, it will probably be easy to call this a successful draft.

It should be a fun day tomorrow, but probably more so on Wednesday.

I really enjoyed the article. Like you, I hope the team takes some chances with tough signs in the mid to late rounds and puts a bit more on the table to get the deal done. Should be fun.
