Forget about Ranaudo

Recommended Posts

LSU right-hander Anthony Ranaudo, the top college pitcher in the 2010 class and a potential top-five selection, has decided to use Scott Boras as his adviser for next June's draft.

The Orioles under MacPhail have been avoiding drafting Boras clients like the plague so don't look for us to be drafting this guy IMO...

Lets also completely forget that MacPhail stated to Matt Hobgood that if Dustin Ackley, who happens to be a Boras client was on the board, he was going to pick him. You can cite the fact that he hasn't chosen a Boras client since his tenure, but you would also be neglecting opportunity and talent. If the O's had the Number one pick last year, they would have taken Strasburg. If Joe Jordan has a Boras client at the top of his board, and that player is available, I have no doubt whatsoever that he would select that player.

I think you're being a little ridiculous here. ;)

That being said, I doubt we'll draft Ranaudo, because he'll probably be off the board by then anyway.

Ahh, I actually would bet that Ranaudo is still available when its our shot. Especially since hes Boras now, he'll probably drop with all the toehr available talent. But even if he doesnt drop, Id see him if taken BPA probably #4 at this point, but everything can change by the time the 2010 draft rolls around.

But IMO there will be plenty of other betetr options available to us aside from Ranaudo....Look at the HS crop this year....
