For all the silliness the All Star game and selection process has become, I guess there's nothing wrong with giving a guy a slot for being a nice guy for a long time and having a good 30 innings at the beginning of a year.

But he's definitely someone you'd exclude under the Sheehan Rule (if a guy has a three week slump, does his selection look really silly?)
