I think it's worth considering Prince as our #5 pitcher and he can play the field on the other days ala Babe Ruth in Boston...

Look at the motion he's got on his pitches...

That is a great find. I have never seen that before. What's scary is the double has gone down in price. Makes me wonder what they put in it. :eektf:

But I still eat them so don't tell me! :D

Are the Orioles going to contend for a playoff spot in 2011? If yes, then they should trade for Fielder, if no then go all out for him next off-season when they wouldn't have to give up 3-5 good players.

Because next season they WON'T spend what it takes to sign him. There will be a new excuse. Plus, you don't really think that the Yankees and Redsoxs would get wind of that? "No", If we are interested, then now would be the time while the Yankees, RedSoxs, Rangers, and Angels all have their minds on other additions. We need him now, and if an extension could be worked out, then DO NOT WAIT. We have seen quite enough of waiting til next year for centuries to come. We need to take rebuilding this team NOW seriously

I highly doubt Melvin would even listen without the inclusion of one of the top line pitchers.

I highly doubt we should be offering one of the top line pitchers for Fielder, either.

It all depends on what the other teams are offering.

Melvin needs to look at what the Braves got for Teixeira at the deadline.

It wasn't much. Now is the time to move Prince, and the Orioles have just as many pieces to offer as other teams...

Hypothetical:

Fielder stays with the Brewers for the coming season, becomes a FA, and signs with someone other then the Orioles. I know you want a "premium" bat at first...who do you pursue?

I look at trading for Justin Morneau to start.

Then the options after him really start declining.

Butler could be available depending on how Hosmer performs.

Swisher will only have one more year under contract as well.

And then you have to look outside the box after that like signing ARam and moving him or Reynolds to 1B.
