The former 2-time Oriole is from my neck of the woods (Rye, NY.) In fact, he graduated one year before my class (1982 for him, 1983 for my class), and he hit a legendary home run at Somers high School (5 minutes from Brewster) that cleared Rte. 139 and hit the firehouse on the other side of the road.

Surhoff is 51 years-old.

I liked him. Good guy.

My wife and I always jokingly call him "The Eternally Sad Guy," because he always looked depressed in his baseball photos for some reason. But he was one of my favorite Orioles of that era.

Liked him too. Quite a versatile talent. Broke in as a catcher but finished as an outfielder. One of my favorite FA signings from Gillick's first year as GM.
