  1. Wow...with the AL East adding Soto and now possibly Ohtani...it's going to be tough to repeat without making some improvements.
  2. He'd be foolish to decline that option.
  3. Somehow, seeing Bowden say this doesn't give me much confidence.
  4. Still think the best defensive team we could put out there is Henderson, Ortiz, and Westburg. I highly doubt we see it, though.
  5. I don't think they need Hader or Hicks (though Hader would be awesome), but I do think they could use another high-leverage reliever. I am not sure Cano is that guy. Hall COULD be that guy, but he might be starting.
  6. This may sound a little odd, but I'm going with Mac Horvath. Seems like he's got a good eye and some power. Not sure how he shakes out defensively, but I like the bat.
  7. Not a fan of this, though: Yankees Have "Intensified" Efforts To Acquire Juan Soto - MLB Trade Rumors
  8. Definitely thinking around 10M.
  9. I'd like us to get one of those guys.
  10. Not being a smart-aleck, but that's the million dollar question! There's no idea what the White Sox are looking for in return for Cease.
  11. I'm pretty sure GMs around the league know that Holliday is not available.
  12. Keep the picks. Deal from current depth.
  13. Thankfully, it doesn't look like the O's are involved: White Sox, Mets Reportedly Finalists For Erick Fedde - MLB Trade Rumors
  14. Sounds to me like: We've got to hang on to these prospects because our current young guys are going to be dealt when they get too expensive.
  15. So they not only want to be handed a chunk of money to update/upgrade the stadium, they want rights to develop the surrounding real estate?
  16. I went there in the early 2000's for a user group conference. Very nice place.
  17. Seemed like every hitter in their lineup has a .900 OPS. It's amazing how good they are.
  18. Doesn't sound like a guy that's going to move the needle.
  19. So, in essence, they could "express interest" in every free agent.
  20. Luzardo is very intriguing. I imagine he would be pretty costly in terms of prospects. His home/away splits from last season are a bit concerning. I don't know if Miami's stadium is a "pitcher friendly" park. His second half numbers were OK, but definitely a drop off from his first half. I would love Montgomery, but you are right about the O's not giving up that kind of money.
  21. I would prefer to see Cano in less high-pressure situations. Definitely don't want him coming into a game with runners on. Pitching the 7th with a 2-run lead and no one on base is where I'd like to see him.
  22. I prefer Irvin at his cost for next year. If you take away the first month, he had a pretty decent season. I like him in the role of swingman/long relief. He'll be MUCH cheaper than Matz as well.
