  1. I believe it's this one: Forums - Soxtalk.com
  2. Agreed. The problem with the Dodgers is not only do they spend, but they are an excellently run organization that has a tremendous farm system. They are the anti-Orioles where they only need to supplement their team with their farm system. I guess either method can work. And...like you stated...once you get to the playoffs, anything goes.
  3. Wonder what they'd want for Castillo? EDIT: Wow...didn't realize how much money he was owed over the next 4 years!
  4. I would put the Angels up there as well.
  5. Going for a "#5" starter would be extremely disappointing.
  6. So, will it be the Dodgers going over 1 billion this offseason?
  7. I'm warming up to the Burnes idea if it's not too costly in terms of prospects. I'd give him the QO at the end of the year knowing that another team will pay a large sum for him.
  8. I'm not a fan of anyone involved in domestic abuse. Agree with what @Aglets states above. This would be a very disappointing signing in a number of ways.
  9. I like the idea of Gunnar as full time SS and Holliday as full time 2B. To start the season, I'd like to see Gunnar at SS and Westburg at 2B for 90% of the games. EDIT: I'd really LOVE to see a Gunnar at 3B, Ortiz at SS, and Westburg at 2B to start the year, but I think one of Ortiz/Westburg will be traded.
  10. No one is going to call it the new name. It will always be "Oriole Park" or "Camden Yards".
  11. Unless other moves are made, I sure hope not.
  12. I understand where you guys are coming from, but he hadn't been remotely close to the 120 innings in any of the previous 5 seasons before last.
  13. Jesús Luzardo Drawing Trade Interest - MLB Trade Rumors O's and 4 other teams mentioned...
  14. Am I crazy, or does it seem ridiculous that a (oft-injured) starting pitcher who has never pitched more than 120 innings in a season is getting this type of contract?
  15. Another thing to add with Luzardo....if he is acquired and he puts together good seasons in 24/25, he could be used like Glasnow was used by the Rays. You trade him with a year left, he's still pretty young, and you get high-quality prospects back if you can't afford to keep him.
  16. Luzardo would be an excellent target. He doesn't have a lot of mileage on his arm and he's not a free agent until after 2026.
  17. I know what you meant there, but that's a mighty cool word!
  18. Don't know, but I would prefer him to most other 1-year guys we've talked about here.
  19. You could say this about football, too. The only Men's sports that are competitive at a national level are lacrosse and recently, baseball. The move to the Big10 certainly hasn't been a great one. Maryland needs to get some help...could they use a new AD?
  20. And, they are getting Chris Stratton for 3.5M, with a 4.5M option. KC spending the big bucks!
  21. What's the difference between Wacha and Gibson? I'd say pretty minimal. It looks like they will go as far as Bradish and Grod will take them as "aces". I think that's fine for the regular season, but I think another top arm is needed for the playoffs. Not sure that Wacha is that guy.
  22. Realistically, I know you are right. Maybe I can ask this differently. Would acquiring a guy like Ohtani make the sale of the team more appealing to a potential buyer?
  23. With the talk of the potential sale of the O's, how would that affect their ability to go after a guy like Ohtani? Would that hurt or help in the sale of the team? I would have to think that having Ohtani would put some serious butts in the seats and garner a lot of national attention.
  24. I've always felt that the Orioles were an "underdog" except for the times in the 1990's when Angelos went wild with the checkbook. The Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays always seem willing to pay big money. With that "underdog" status, I truly hope it's the O's and Rays battling it out for the AL East again...but with these teams and their seemingly unlimited payroll, it will be harder to do.
