  1. After the top 4, I'm not really confident. Well, I'm not 100% confident with Cano, either. Kimbrell and the two lefties are the only two that I somewhat trust to be productive, if used in the right way. The rest of these guys are a crapshoot.
  2. I don't know that he's "beloved" or that they just think they can still use him while he's relatively cheap. I don't know what good putting him at 2B is, other than that maybe they are looking at offers for Urias and want to see if he can play there.
  3. Agreed. Spending money on a guy like Lorenzen seems like a bad idea to me. If you are going to make a move, make it a significant one...not something that doesn't move the needle.
  4. I picked option 3. I think his ability to hit lefties MAY play some sort of role in their decision making, but I'm not sure it's that big of a deal. You have versatile guys in Urias, Westburg, and Gunnar that can start against lefties. Heck, if Mateo somehow sticks around as an IF/OF, you have even more depth. I trust the management of this team to make the right decisions.
  5. I don't think Buster is a Boras mouthpiece. I think what he says makes a lot of sense. One of those arms on a Bellinger-style contract would be a great fit for this team right now.
  6. Dude looks like he throws an "easy" 97. Doesn't look like a lot of effort on the pitches in this video.
  7. For one or both? Seriously doubt this is the case, but I wouldn't be surprised to see both of these guys go the Bellinger route.
  8. Montgomery could pitch there. Sure, his numbers would be worse there than on the road, but he'll be fine.
  9. We could see a couple of years of this, provided all stay healthy. Don't know what the future holds for Adley and Gunnar, but having those 5 at the top of the order for a couple of years would be incredible if they all reach their potential. Then, you throw in possible guys like Kjerstad, Cowser, Bradfield....sheesh.
  10. I would agree. Cowser is a very good prospect, but Mayo has the chance to be a real masher. If both he and Basallo continue their progression, the two of them hitting back to back in the middle of the order would be awesome (if you're not pitching to them!).
  11. I prefer Santander. O'Hearn scares me every time a ball is hit his way.
  12. I feel ok about the lefty options. It's the right-handers that give me pause.
  13. How do you know this? This seems like an odd statement to make.
  14. ...or Toronto. I wouldn't mind the Rays so much, but he's not the type the Rays would go after anyway.
  15. No problem with Wong or Teheran. Depth moves...not hard to understand. These guys may never play a game in a regular season Oriole uniform. Let's stay calm.
  16. Agreed. Petty and stupid...if he really wanted to show teams he's "matured", he should just ignore stuff like this.
  17. I don't think he'd be bad insurance. At 2M, it's not that big of a deal and doesn't stop you from making other moves if you need to do so.
  18. Guess it doesn't hurt to bring him in.
  19. I'm thinking .270/.350/.425. A nice .775 OPS for his rookie season. I think his eye will play and he'll struggle early, but have a nice 2nd half of the season.
  20. Personally, I'd like to acquire another starter. I don't think it will happen, though.
  21. Right. I'm basing my previous post on past experience, not the 2 innings he threw yesterday.
  22. Yes, I know it's "early", but I like the idea of Irvin as the 5th starter assuming another starter is acquired.
  23. I'd offer him a 3/90 deal and make him say no. He'll still have time left to cash in more in 3 years. He'll be playing for a competitive team and have a HUGE LF to work with. I think he's another good veteran presence as well.
