  1. How do you know this? This seems like an odd statement to make.
  2. ...or Toronto. I wouldn't mind the Rays so much, but he's not the type the Rays would go after anyway.
  3. No problem with Wong or Teheran. Depth moves...not hard to understand. These guys may never play a game in a regular season Oriole uniform. Let's stay calm.
  4. Agreed. Petty and stupid...if he really wanted to show teams he's "matured", he should just ignore stuff like this.
  5. I don't think he'd be bad insurance. At 2M, it's not that big of a deal and doesn't stop you from making other moves if you need to do so.
  6. Guess it doesn't hurt to bring him in.
  7. I'm thinking .270/.350/.425. A nice .775 OPS for his rookie season. I think his eye will play and he'll struggle early, but have a nice 2nd half of the season.
  8. Personally, I'd like to acquire another starter. I don't think it will happen, though.
  9. Right. I'm basing my previous post on past experience, not the 2 innings he threw yesterday.
  10. Yes, I know it's "early", but I like the idea of Irvin as the 5th starter assuming another starter is acquired.
  11. I'd offer him a 3/90 deal and make him say no. He'll still have time left to cash in more in 3 years. He'll be playing for a competitive team and have a HUGE LF to work with. I think he's another good veteran presence as well.
  12. Must be nice to have unlimited money to throw around. Let's see how it works out for them.
  13. I'm not sure that TJ is required, I'm just thinking that in a case like this you need to be prepared that KB won't be available for the season. I hope that he can work this out through some sort of program that doesn't involve surgery, but I think the team needs to be looking at this in a "worst case" scenario.
  14. I would agree. I think anything Bradish gives them this season is a bonus and they shouldn't be relying on him to be taking regular starts.
  15. If the Orioles were interested, this would be done and over with by now.
  16. Totally agree. I trust the guys making the decisions to put the best player at the best spot on the field.
  17. The only problem is that none of these guys meet the criteria of the thread title.
  18. I like Irvin. He threw 178 and 181 innings the two seasons before last and was pretty effective. He's a nice guy to have in the long relief role/spot starter and I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a capable piece of the rotation.
  19. I love the idea of Montgomery on this team. He and Burnes would be a great 1/2 punch at the top of the rotation.
  20. I'd leave Wells in the bullpen and let Irvin be the 5th starter. This is, of course, assuming another starter is acquired.
  21. I've always been of the opinion that we needed another guy BEFORE Bradish's injury. I don't trust Means to be a dependable starter. I still think they need to make a trade and sign a guy that can start or be in the pen. I'm not a big fan of Lorenzen, but he fits that mold as the #5 guy, then could slide back to the bullpen if needed.
  22. Doesn't seem like someone who should be on the 40-man unless he's Paul Blair with the glove.
  23. This is a good question. He's 30 years old now. If he has a very productive season, he could have set himself up for a nice 3 or 4 year contract from some team.
  24. So...I know Felix will go on the 60-day...is anyone else possible?
