  1. Well, they should be. I agree, 30 homers has a place, I just don't think anyone would be willing to pay a premium for it.
  2. Good God, someone would pay Gausman 18.9 million. Unbelievable.
  3. I guess Elias has control, or something.
  4. Watched it...and... Don't get me wrong, Dalkowski is an interesting story for obvious reasons. And while the documentary does a good job of showing some interviews and anecdotes, newspaper archives...and also delving into how bad his alcoholism was...It doesn't bring a lot of new things to the table. In other words, how many different ways can you tell the story of a guy who supposedly threw harder than anyone ever but was just as notoriously wild? I think the holy grail is someone finding video of Dalkowski pitching, to my knowledge it doesn't exist. It was a good documentary and worth watching but again...doesn't bring anything necessarily new to the table.
  5. No one would ever do such a thing. It could be a decent pickup. Nothing more, nothing less.
  6. Strengthens the middle infield defense, which I am a fan of. But I'm not going to read into signing a guy like this as to what Elias' grand plans are. That's just silly.
  7. Do it. Ugh, Bezos is the most obvious choice. We'd make the Yankees look like the Rays.
  8. The Baltimore Bezos's play in Amazon Prime Park at Whole Foods Yard, I can get used to it. C'mon Jeff, hear my cries for help.
  9. @DrungoHazewood you can add Earl and Sparky Anderson to baseball managers that looked a lot older than they really were. 50 today isn't the same as 50 30-40+ years ago. I'm not sure why that is. Maybe we know how to take better care of ourselves and there's more of an emphasis on fitness and nutrition than there was back then. It didn't take long, but people in their 50s these days definitely don't look the way people in their 50s did a generation or two ago.
  10. Live look in at @DrungoHazewood
  11. This is where I am. You LEAVE COLLEGE EARLY TO GET PAID TO PLAY PRO BALL SO YOU'RE NOT IN A RUSH TO FINISH A DEGREE.
  12. I agree. The thing I will say about Bauer is that he seems to work very hard at his craft. He seems to want to get better all the time and takes an interest in analytics, spin rate, etc. That said, his results are what they are.
  13. Exactly. This is lazy reporting, kinda. Not lazy in the sense that it makes sense to report that he mentioned Baltimore but too lazy to connect the dots that we aren't interested in paying that much for a player. I also think that Bauer is way overpriced at 7/245. He's a good pitcher but not THAT good.
  14. Really can't wait to see when some of the international guys are starting to make noise. It's good that we've got a decently regarded system without much presence from international prospects but the system will have a real shot in the arm once a few of these guys start to produce.
  15. Not sure why but I have a good feeling about him. Maybe it's the plate discipline.
  16. Yeah, I don't want any part of Trevor Bauer for 35 million. LeMahieu also turns 33 in July, maybe ok for 3rd base but not for 2nd. And as pointed out by Drungo, Colome's k rate isn't good. Even then, that trio doesn't put this team as constructed over the top.
  17. I'm also blaming @LookinUp as I read his interpretation, too, before looking at the cover.
  18. Yeah, I think your interpretation is most likely correct. I didn't read it that way initially.
