  1. Elias has a blackbelt in saying a lot without saying anything at all. He's on a Bruce Lee level.
  2. Heart skipped a beat there for a second.
  3. Flat brims only work if you're a scrawny teenager. If you're a middle aged white guy they look kinda silly.
  4. Sorry to steer you guys away from the constant debate and speculation on how we'll finish in last place this year and what players we'll be doing it with. Wanted to bring this to your attention. https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/orioles/new-era-spring-training-hats-get-poor-reviews-especially-orioles-cap I hope none of you are buying this.
  5. Damn, these guys are slow. Didn't realize Martin was that fast, though. Alberto is dead last in exit velocity and hard hit %? I'm assuming I'm not reading that right.
  6. I really only want Tate to make the roster because I know how much @Can_of_corn adores him.
  7. A zip tie is a good way of describing him. I think he's close to being a lock but it wouldn't surprise me if he's not in the rotation by the end of the season.
  8. Maybe Wojo isn't a lock. I dunno. But let's go with 7 out of the 13 spots. So the conversation is really about who's fighting for those 6 spots. 2 in the rotation, 4 in the pen. For me, when it comes to the rotation I think it's LeBlanc and Stewart. Stewart is still young enough with some upside, I think Elias is going to want to get a real long look at him and give him every chance, unless he's a complete disaster. LeBlanc has been a decent pitcher before. Of course there's all of ST for these guys to pitch themselves out of rotation spots.
  9. Vinny Cerrato was such a bumbling doof as a GM for the Redskins, I can't imagine him trying to speak about other sports.
  10. IMO, @wildcard, Means, Cobb, Wojo have more than a chance - they're pretty much locks. Same with Harvey, Bleier, Givens, Castro in the pen. As bad as our pitchers are, there are some locks. I don't believe that the OD roster from a pitching perspective is as wide open as we'd like to think it is. How that plays out for the entire season is a different beast, for sure.
  11. Really, just want to see him stay healthy and maintain velocity all season. I'm really not sure what to expect.
  12. If our sorry sack team pegs him to be a utility guy, what would a decent team view him as? He's gonna be a utility guy no matter where he goes. Stevie's best chance to get any kind of playing time, most likely, is to stay here.
  13. Well, for good reason. Seemed like a good dude, could absolutely fly on the basepaths and in the outfield. But couldn't hit worth a lick.
  14. Yeah, you're right. But it's the Sox so...y'know...!$%#'em.
  15. He flashed a little last year. I don't think he's nearly as bad as Wright was. That's about all I got. There's some upside, it looks like. He might turn into the next Wright...the difference is that Wright was afforded chance after chance. I'm still willing to see what Armstrong can do before writing him off.
  16. Was at the gym this morning, this Red Sox fan that I talk to is BITTER. Put a little spring in my step, not gonna lie.
  17. Verdugo looks like he's a pretty good player. And he looks like a douchebag, too...so he'll fit in well in Boston, at least from that perspective. I'll like this trade a lot more if he crashes and burns.
  18. Ugh, man...those are some ugly numbers. I think we'll be on par with last years team. Too many question marks in the rotation to make me think they'll be improved by a degree that's worth mentioning. I agree that the defense should be improved but if they still can't keep the ball in the yard it doesn't matter. Even if they still somehow give up 50 less homers than last year they still gave up a ton of homers. Would love to be wrong.
  19. I am. Considering there aren't many other options, they're going to be ML outfielders.
  20. And the Jays, too. They're a couple years ahead of us but we're always going to be having to duke it out with at least one of the Yanks/Sox and Jays/Rays.
  21. I'm sure. Mason Williams, DSJR...don't have long term futures here. Maybe one of them does as a 4th outfielder. And everyone here knows that the OD outfield should look very different than the outfield that'll finish the season.
