Little surprised no one posted about his ineptitude. Pretty disappointing. Jorge Lopez bad. I’m starting to wonder if he’s a starter.

He’s not. One time through the order should be his limit.

I doubt Hyde is getting judged on that.

You don’t think there’s a certain number of games he needs to win to have his option picked up? If he loses 100 again, you think he comes back next year?

Its not like they picked up his option already.

If the sole objective was to win the game, it’s highly questionable decision.   But perhaps he just wanted to test Plutko early in the season.

Someone in the last year of his contract might want to win as many games as he can.

Let's say Stewart really plays well and hits - how do we fit him, Mountcastle, Santander, and Hays into a lineup at the same time? It seems like no matter what you do, one of our best players is on the bench. Which I guess is ok if you're rotating, but... it's not like the team has an abundance of great players so its a shame to have one of them on the bench at any given time.

But - if I had to choose, I'd opt for Hays seeing more bench time to keep him healthy (again - if Stewart is playing well). Because the left-handed bat is much-needed. At least until Mullins cools off.

Between Stewart and Hays, I doubt they see 162 games played combined. Both are way too injury prone. It’s not a problem until it becomes one. Also, nothing wrong with shuffling the hot bats into the lineup and giving guys a breather.

That's not how I figured they were going to do it but they still did it anyway.

Santander incapable of getting around on fastball up in the zone. Plus Galvis shouldn’t have ran on that play (despite terrible call). Ball barely got beyond the catcher.

  6. Means and Zimmerman are still the only long term SP I see. Kremer should be a one time through the order guy. Same with Lopez. If those guys move to the pen, it will help shore up some of the holes there. Can never have enough pitching.

Mullins is really starting to turn into a legit CF. Great defensively and on the base paths, obviously. But, he’s using the whole field from the left side, with enough pop to keep pitchers honest. I’m sure Mountcastle and Mancini will start hitting, but this offense is tough to watch.
