  1. Just another "warm body" for Spring Training. Could possibly be DFA'd near end of Spring Training or optioned to AAA as a "depth piece". Nothing to get worked-up about.
  2. I'm betting that Adley is betting on himself. Any offer the O's make to "buyout" some free-agent years would probably need to be "precedent setting".
  3. It's just ridiculous that this MASN dispute has dragged on for so long. Hopefully the new Nats owners (regardless of whom they are) can inject a renewed sense of urgency into resolving this matter.
  4. I just turned 60 this year and "for me" Brooksie is "the Mr. Oriole". I love Ripken, Palmer, Frank, Boog, etc. I've always considered Brooks to be the "backbone" upon which this franchise was built. Everyday should be Brooks Robinson Day.
  5. Just wait 'til Elias and Sig sprinkle their "special sauce" on these new young pitchers.
  6. Waiting on a physical before the official team announcement.
  7. Most favorite picks: Jackson Carpenter (of course) and the Fabian dude. Fabian has some serious dog in him. Least favorite pick: ?
  8. Give Drew Jones his 8.8 million slot value and call it a successful draft. The young man is a special talent much like Adley was in 2019. In my opinion it's a "no brainer".
  9. As an Arkansan I've watched this young man since he showed up as a somewhat unheralded freshman. All he does is hit the baseball. Tony Gwynn? I'd settle for that.
  10. Thank you Frobby. A voice of reason in this jungle.
  11. He looked to me to be "scuffling" right out of the gate. Just not sharp. A better team than the Rangers would probably haved "chased" him in the first couple of innings. Hopefully just a "blip" on his radar.
  12. I get this feeling everytime he comes to the plate that he's gonna get a hit.
  13. I'm liking what I've seen so far (very SSS). Just 23 years old. Smart waiver claim for a still rebuilding ballclub.
  14. Weather: outdoors it's 69 degrees with no precipitation, so I assume the roof will be open. Remember one game in particular back during the Showalter era when the roof was open. It began raining during the game and the retractable roof "crapped out" about halfway thru closing. It was raining in the outfield but dry in the infield--or maybe vice-versa. Just remember it was some funny stuff.
  15. What's sad is that what we're reading in this initial story is most likely just the "tip of the iceberg". This could get really nasty very quickly. As a 60 year old lifetime Orioles fanatic it hurts to see this once proud franchise being dragged thru the gutter by this greedy ownership family.
  16. What's that old saying? "Some folks would complain if you hung 'em with a new rope."
  17. Seemed to me as though he was "forcing things" today. I guess early season jitters. He's okay as long as he lets Palmer and/or McDonald do most of the talkin'.
