  1. Wasn’t Bowden caught skimming from international drafts? That’s what I heard, not sure if true. I’m not sure we should take failed GMs’ opinions on what current ones may do anymore than a passing thought. That being said, man am I starved for some Orioles content lol.
  2. Well that one at least makes sense. He was already a hundred millionaire. Bellinger at least has incentive to do well. Maybe a one year contract around 7 million with incentives would be wise for this guy. Platoon him with Hays and at the very least he’s a defensive replacement with speed, at best his bat clicks and we get shades of 2019 Bellinger. I trust the coaches if they feel they can fix his bat and approach. If not, no worries.
  3. We’re they accurate for any other teams last year or was it just the O’s that surprised them?
  4. Yeah you’re probably right but maybe the market for him is so dead we could snag him cheap? I dunno. He’s just quite the outlier among corner outfielders
  5. Thoughts on Cody Bellinger as a possible pickup by the Orioles? He’s a left handed bat, he’s 27, former center fielder, former all star and maybe we could fix his swing? Was his downturn injury related? Odd to see such a talented player just completely fall off and at prime age. He could really cover left field for us potentially, but the bat is a question mark.
  6. In a sense that his metrics aren’t impressive I guess. In the interview the guy thinks of himself as a five tool player. He’s young and growing is all and yes he’s a high character player but don’t snooze on his metrics as well I guess. That’s probably not what you meant so I apologize if I took it the wrong way.
  7. Kind of a backhanded compliment don’t you think Tony?
  8. Imagine being a sports writer turned mouth piece. It’s sad really.
  9. Eh, could be a smoke screen. I still would love Rodon but there are guys we could pluck that won’t cost us a draft pick.
  10. I think we found the replacement for Head or Krehbel. Both are not effective.
  11. The thing about odor is his chemistry on the team. You can’t disturb that. That’d be like not signing markakis and Cruz. But he doesn’t have to play every day. I think having a bonafide short stop at 2b in Westburg and replacing Nevin/arauz with Henderson/Urias at third.. that’d be nasty
  12. Replace Nevin and arauz with Gunnar and Jordan. Move Gunnar/Urias to third, Jordan/Odor to second, Mateo/Jordan at short. it sure would be nice.
  13. Neither. I’d go underslot for Brooks Lee. He fits the window of opportunity for the Orioles. Elias loves college bats and this kids hit tool is graded at 65, that’s elite. His defense is top tier and he could stick at third. Reminds me of Alex Bregman.
  14. Mateo is the prototypical utility infielder. He’s the late inning defensive replacement/pinch runner. McKenna’s role becomes redundant then. If Mateo can be taught how to play left field this off-season, he becomes your clear choice for super utility defensive replacement and we can move up Henderson, Westberg, and Vavra to take over the infield. I am going to miss Odor however. The guy may not be hitting all that consistently but his glove is special and he’s a special clubhouse guy as well.
  15. Jones. We need someone to replace Mullins/Hays at center.
  16. Sometimes all it takes is a change in delivery. We saw the same results with Brad Brach when he arrived in Baltimore. You saw it with Arietta with the Cubs and there are countless examples for other clubs. Coaches are really good at what they do and if the arm plays and they think they can fix them, you get results like we are seeing.
  17. Makes sense and also gives Elias a huge edge in evaluation over his peers. Shielding knowledge like that over the years creates a disparity between in evaluation and calculation. Now that the rug has been pulled, it changes the calculus.
  18. Imagine playing for the blue jays and being forced to comply. Also, the blue jays suck.
  19. Good on them in my opinion. Canada sucks anyway.
  20. You need only look at mid to late 2010s to see that clearly, they will and now we will get much better and more talented free agent pitchers because Camden is much less a home run park.
  21. I mean, I get why Newman has a job. She’s a woman and the quota must be filled. Garceau though…we already have our old guy quota in Jim Palmer. Palmer’s never told a story that’s not somehow about himself.
