  1. Probably, the ensuing era of Orioles greatness will be called the "Barnaby Graves Era."
  2. Had my first ones recently. There are two styles. One is cold, like shrimp salad. The other is what I ate - warm, just lobster covered in drawn butter
  3. MLB is just simulcasting NESN from what I can tell.
  4. Looks like his sliding mitt hit Mancini's glove while he had stepped off the bag. I don't like these types of calls being overturned.
  5. Guess that's why Ruiz is batting 5th instead of 8th.
  6. Ugh, those ugly Scott Erickson jerseys.
  7. I think it's highly likely that he was hoping to be caught by a very attractive young woman who would either watch or help out. Or maybe any woman. Or a dude, who knows. If he just wanted to rub one out, he could have done that in two minutes and been finished and driving away.
  8. Sorry, but still "no." That mature crowd would disregard the HRs and RBIs and think poorly of Odor's offensive production because of the Ks and horribly low batting average. They did that with a far superior player, Dave Kingman. While a favorite of the little kids, the adults tended to think he was a mediocre talent. Through modern statistical analysis, it appears Kingman was undervalued by most fans. Also undervalued because of the huge number of Ks and middling batting average was Bobby Bonds. While that crowd may have been surprised to see a second baseman putting up those counting numbers -- they were rare from a middle infielder back then -- nearly all older baseball fans would have a low opinion Odor's offensive output.
  9. That's a lot of missing! Not saying that will trend but that is like little-kid missing.
  10. If they choose to start the year with both Valaika and Urias on the roster without pursuing Odor at (I'm guessing minimum), you might think they have certain feelings about Odor. And if this season doesn't count, there is no reason for the Orioles front office to embarrass both themselves and Wade LeBlanc by cutting him for Liriano. Won't print the tickets . And makes the organization look duplicitous to potential free agents. Senseless to reap distrust when you know you are not going to compete for a playoff spot. Having said that, there may be room for both Francisco Liriano and Wade LeBlanc on this team.
  11. And not the only one in the freezer section. Also, Papa John's. The box tastes better than the pie. "Better ingredients" than what? Wonder bread and ketchup?
  12. Yeah, OK. But I would still get him a couple of innings of in-game play. Doing things helps all of us get more comfortable. I don't think an inning or two here and there would have changed any roster construction. They found a way to get Wilkerson in two games at 1B and Valaika in five. Maybe those innings logged at 1B changed the calculus, but I doubt it. And if/when either of those guys gets innings at 1B this season, they are definitely going to be rusty at the position regardless of the Spring innings. I'd rather make a player at the core of my team comfortable than worrying about the near future of utility players in a non-competitive season.
  13. Sure... Not sure where you are going with this.
  14. Mountcastle played 75 MLB innings at 1B last year and 192 in LF. I would have figured out a way to get him a couple of innings at 1B this Spring. It's likely he will be transitioning between outfield and infield in some games this season. Might as well get a taste when the games don't count.
  15. My passport has been very, very good as it has facilitated trips to foreign countries.
  16. Most of us are informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  17. And that would have been the last straw for weams. This thread would have been locked if it hadn't previously been.
  18. I'm going to get right on this article right after I read your source's articles about the 200 reasons why the Earth is flat and exactly what is going to happen once the Kraken is released.
  19. Using bbref's dWAR, Sisco is at -0.4 career, -0.3 in 2020. That's pretty bad and he seems worse than that. Meanwhile Severino is at 1.1 career and 0.4 last season! That's even harder to believe. It's not that I think either flavor of dWAR is useless, but I do not think either one should be used as the sole, indisputable measurement of players' skills. And I don't believe that any GMs limit their player evaluations to any single statistic or formula.
  20. Only those who limit their judgment to a single statistical formula.
  21. Plenty of elderly people are still waiting for vaccination.
  22. Actually dfa'd not outright released.
