That is definitely not the right reaction. His previous start was fine. If this isn't injury related we need to give him another chance.

That botched call by the ump on the SB was a godsend that inning. The Rays would still be batting and would have at least 2 runs in.

This is why we needed to sign a decent veteran starter last offseason and not one who you had a 75 % chance of missing the entire season

Other than the decrease in velocity Matusz was fine his first two starts. It'll take much more than today to make me want to send him to AAA or replace him in the rotation.

Remove his fastball and he is not a good pitcher. He is afraid to throw it and is over throwing to reach high 80's when he does go to it.
