Yoenis Cespedes

Just crushed his second homerun of the season. His swing is so gorgeous to watch.

It's probably too early to start speculating at this point, but, do you see Cespedes as a threat to take the Homerun Crown this year?

I've been watching him myself. He really crushed that one today. He also looks pretty good in CF. Too early to tell, but we might have missed a really good one.

Bump...Cespedes has been pretty solid with the bat, .263/.326/.465 with 9 HR and 36 RBI in 54 games played (he was on the DL for about a month. It appears his fielding isn't very good. BB-ref has him at -1.7 dWAR, fangraphs has him at -8.3 UZR. Overall, if I'm the A's, I'm pretty pleased with that production from a guy getting his first major league experience. He could compare favorably to Adam Jones with the bat in a year or two.

Yeah, and it appears the A's are moving him to LF (which isn't off to a great start).

It stinks that we didn't get Cespedes but the risk was just too high based on the price tag. He is absolutely mashing (especially for the park he plays in half the season) but there was a good chance that he could have been an absolutely flop too.
