Chavez has reverse split stats: OPS .692 vs southpaws, .677 vs. right-handers. I wd bet Buck knows that.

Also, Andino's splits are also reverse against starting pitchers and very minor against pitchers in toto.

Not that much difference really!

And? I don't see the logic in batting Chavez at the 1 spot just because the starter is a righty. The splits favor Andino too.
What other reason would Buck have? Andino hit's LHP better than RHP so bat him #1 then. This whole business about who bats lead off is ridiculous anyway. It's one freakin' AB. This way if Andino gets on base, Chavez can bunt him over or at least stay out of the DP. Buck likes the Bamdino in the 9th spot where he has been thriving. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Good point. Still, i feel more comfortable with Andino up there than Chavez. I think most of us can agree with that.

I don't. I feel more comfortable with Andino batting 9th where he has been great, and I really don't care who bats first. I like Reimold there when he's healthy. I really want to see Hardy dropped from #2 to #6, and everyone else moved up a spot.

We honestly should win today's game 8-1 with Hammel going 7+. It's what good teams do - that lineup the red sox are throwing out there is crap and their bullpen is exhausted. It's baseball so anything could happen - but today's game shouldn't be close.

It's still early in the game, but ......... reps, reps, reps. :)

Erm. This isn't the game thread.

So, a spot-on prediction made in this thread before game started isn't permitted to be commented on here because it isn't the game thread?

Not quite as impressive without Ellsbury or Youk, but that's not a bad lineup. Middlebrooks looks like an impressive young ballplayer.

It's pretty bad for the American league. Orioles should win again today as long as Hunter throws strikes and keeps the ball down.
