On 9-4 Markakis swing to me looks a little quicker than it has in awhile. Though he still has a popout to shallow LF after being ahead 2-0.

I've gone from getting angry to laughing. It is absolutely comical that Buck continues to plug in a guy that can't hit the ball out of the infield 85% of the time in the 5 hole. It's an absolute joke and just another example of Buck choosing loyalty over common sense.

Since Buck and Nick will both be back next year... you just have to wonder how long Nick will play next season before being benched???

In the middle of his worst, and longest, slump, Nick Markakis is batting fifth.....and creating huge hitting void right in the middle of the lineup. You just don't do something that in the middle of a playoff chase. It really makes you wonder about Buck Showalter's mind set right now........

No excuse for Markakis batting 5th today, none.

It's the same mind set that led him to give Zach Britton a start in a crucial September game. Buck has many virtues, but too often he is guilty of excessive loyalty to players whose performance doesn't merit loyalty.

I think Hardy and Jones need an occasional day off too. No sense running them in to the ground if you're trying to win games.
