I'll believe that a deal's in place when someone other than Rickii reports it. And then I'll b---- about it if the AAV is anywhere close to accurate. murph
Glad it's done, but another sign that we are probably not going after Garza or Choo, if this took that long, those guy would not be signed until July. Balfour should be entertaining at least.

TradeAngelos
Backpeddle Jen...backpeddle FAST... @Jen_Royle 26sBalfour may accept a two-year deal from Orioles for more money per year... And scratch that third year they've been working on.
MrOrange82
Clearly Dan understands he has a 2 year window. Don't want that third year. Spending 75% of JJ's $10 million on a 36 year old "closer" would be infuriating, regardless of a third year.
Bazooka Jones
Mods. You can edit that title. Rosenthal had it on Twitter before Rickli. Will I learn?

You think Balfour is < 75% of JJ's value? The Orioles got a better pitcher for less money... and Webb... and Weeks. Ruzious
Solid move even if it's not the greatest use of scarce resources. It gives the team a bit of credibility.

IF the deal happens at that dollar value, the Orioles spent money on a FA closer. That is intrinsically wasteful, IMO. It has nothing to do with the other players the Orioles do/don't get this winter.
