Balfour may accept a two-year deal from Orioles for more money per year... And scratch that third year they've been working on.

IF the deal happens at that dollar value, the Orioles spent money on a FA closer. That is intrinsically wasteful, IMO. It has nothing to do with the other players the Orioles do/don't get this winter.
