Last night's broadcast via mlb.tv ran longer than usual and included the interview after the game with Jones. (Usually it stops abruptly right after the last out.)

Jones IS the man. He is. He's all baseball and we are lucky to have a guy so enthusiastic about not only his teammates but his adopted city.

He's neat.

I noticed this too, and I think he is just using favorable counts and his contact ability to smack hittable pitches for doubles instead of working a walk. That's fine by me.

He is carrying this team on his broad back.

AJ is in a bit of a slump right now: .587 OPS in his last 23 games. He's had some meaningful hits in that time, but hasn't hit well overall.
Always going for the HR swing when a single will do. He's trying to pick up the rest of the lineup not named Machado.

ETA: I did talk about the team-wide slump in another thread. Here are the numbers for July 7 - August 4 (23 games). There are quite a few pathetic performances amongst the regulars in that timeframe.
