Orioles Trade Targets?

Until the other shoe dropped today (Harvey's arm), I would not feel the same as now. Now I think that Bundy will not come back-not all TJ's do and then Harvey?---Give me the bird in hand so to speak.

What are you basing that on though? So far all signs point the opposite direction with Dylan Bundy. His velocity is on track for what is expected. He has multiple plus pitches. Honestly his upside is higher than KG. I like Keuchel he is a pretty good pitcher but no way I would give up two guys with #1 potential for a guy who has had 2/3 of a season of good ball.

Kinda a mute point as you said but I would not make that deal. One of them and say a guy like Wright, Wilson, Walker ....maybe.

They weren't going anywhere anyway, Ken.

If they would take another that you mentioned---hell yes! If they won't, we should not throw this year's golden opportunity away--and Keuchel is team controlled for quite a few years. And Bundy is very, very far from what he was.

Its not a golden opportunity though. It just an opportunity. The best way to win a championship is not to go "all in" first chance you get, the best way is to build a team that will get you multiple opportunities to win one by getting to the playoffs multiple times. We could trade for Keuchel, Lester or King Felix tomorrow and they could go down a week later...it happens. There is luck, getting hot at the right time and all that involved. Keep Bundy, Harvey, KG and likely at least 2 of those guys form a deadly 1 - 2 punch at a low cost.

If you could get a Keuchel or Lester for MiGo and ERod maybe throw in another arm or bat and or a comp pick...great. Not saying those guys have no value but mortgaging your future for one shot is a good way to end up with a string of losing seasons once you take that shot.

We deserve some good fortune.

Having Lester fall into our laps at a reasonable price that does not include our prized arms would be pretty good fortune ...fingers crossed.

Lester is SHORT term- I would not give them Gonzo straight up----why does everyone discount this Gonzo guy???? Keuchel is controllable LONG-term and is affective NOW. Bundy and Harvey May, one day, be as affective as Keuchel is now. Keuchel is what you call a benefit now and later.

So one affective now, in a winnable situation vs. 2 long term possibilities----?????

I'm guessing we have given Boston an idea what we would be willing to trade and that it is currently insufficient to make a deal. Boston will see if they can do better elsewhere right up to the deadline unless they are given a solid offer elsewhere. I still think like I did yesterday that the chances of dealing for him are extremely slim. But if it did happen, it would probably be right before the deadline.

I'd give up a lot for Keuchel. And with a lack of positional talent, which seems to be what Houston is looking for, we probably would have to overpay a little to makeup for it. But Gausman and Keuchel at the top of the rotation for the next 5 to 6 years? Yes please.

Good. I don't want to deal Harvey to a rival for a rental.

Its not about discounting him its about numbers. Next year you have KG, Ubaldo (like or not we are stuck with him as SP for now), Chen, Tillman, Norris. Out of Chen, Tillman, Norris and KG who are you sitting for MiGo? Not to mention in the second half next year Bundy will more than likely be ready to attemot to do his KG impression. He is a decent #4-#5 guy who has benefited greatly from some outstanding D behind him. His numbers bear that out for the most part. He has been on a hot streak, his value in a trade as a SP is prob greater than his value in the pen to be honest. He is a guy who I like but is simply being squeezed out to some extent. On a side note the fact that the O's are talking about moving MiGo is a pretty clear indicator they are pretty confident based on the medicals and progression to this point that Bundy is back on track and will be fine.

So in short if moving a guy who is unlikely to be long for your rotation and a decent prospect but not top tier gets you a TOR starter for you pennant run....that is a no brainer.
