I think Nolan is an upgrade over DeAza - may not have the D of a Lough but his OBP would look nice up here.

I don't disagree but...

and I can't believe I am saying nice things about Lough here:), but his glove is an asset the others don't have. We already have average/sub-par fielders that can hit without power. Until Reimold starts hitting with more power, I think Lough might be more valuable. You could probably make an argument for Delmon vs. Reimold though. Delmon though has a history of staying healthy and can't be sent down though so I would just wouldn't make a move there.

Parmalee is more interesting to me.

As long as Parmalee continues to hit better, I truly, believe he is on the short list for the next shuttle ride up.

Nah, actually I have been a believer that Lough could have a more consistent role here but he hasn't really deserved it. All great points.

Has anyone else seen the tear Reimold has been on of late? I know it's only 10 games, but he is batting .516 over his last 31 ABs. That also includes 4 doubles in that timeframe. It may not be time to call Reimold back yet... but if he keeps hitting at anywhere near this clip for much longer, it may finally be time to give him another look in the majors.

I don't think he will ever really be back. He looks thinner than he used to and without that easy plus power he used to have, he doesn't bring anything to the table that we do not already have.

You know, like plate discipline.

He doesn't do anything else good enough to justify putting him in the lineup going forward for an extended period of time IMO. His fielding is mediocre at best, he doesn't run THAT well, probably an average runner. Power since neck surgery is MAYBE average probably below for a corner outfielder. What can we really expect from him that Snider doesn't already provide?

We may bring him up and try to ride this hot streak of his, I'm not saying we won't, but I just do not think he is much more than "that" type of player these days-a AAAA guy who can be valuable as a call up from time to time. Unless of course that home run power comes back....

While I agree that it would likely take an injury for Reimold to get his chance, if he keeps hitting like this he's going to make some people take notice. That said, his lack of power of late is a touch alarming as far as his MLB future is concerned.

And yet we have Delmon who, when he isn't facing Odorizzi, you just perfectly described.

    • We have an off day to give Mounty an extra days rest. We have an off day next Monday as well with the ASB looming. Mounty is close to making the ASG so I doubt he wants to hit the IL.  Meaning a RP would have to go for Mayo. I think we’re trying to keep Urias this season and move on from him in the offseason. Mayo is on target to be added as our extra player in September unless we have an injury.  It sure would be nice to bring Mayo up and let him get a ton of ABs to be ready for the playoffs.  At the end of the day, what’s worth more?  Urias as an insurance policy that shouldn’t get ABs in the playoffs, or developing Mayo that should get playoff ABs?
    • When Kremer comes back and if we get a #3 starter, would that help bolster the pen? You can move Suarez and Irvin/Povich into the pen.
    • Those three starts were going against @NYY, @Hou, and Texas. He’s slated to go @Oak with an extra day of rest.  We have to differentiate between regular season SP and playoff SP. Just like how we have to do with regular season RP and playoff RP.  Irvin, Povich, Kremer, and Suarez, are fine options to get you through 162.  Burnes, and Grayson, are our playoff options right now. We need a game 2/3 SP. The playoff RP core looks to be Kimbrel, Cano, Webb, Coloumbe(if healthy), and Perez. It would be nice to add two arms to the playoff RPs.
    • I had thought Hell’s Bells was about trying to avoid your wife and family to watch O’s games.
    • Westburg’s lack of lateral quickness has been pointed out there.  Then again, everyone will look less quick when compared to Mateo. I think Mayo’s more of a 3B/1B with us. Position versatility. That’s not a knock on him at 3B, but that we like players in different positions to match up. Mayo is no different.
    • Irvin’s next start is scheduled for @ Oakland. As of right now, we’d be scheduled to have the back half of the rotation for the Yankees series right before the break. I could see us tinkering with the rotation so that we have Burnes and Grayson at least going vs the Yankees.  I could see us going with a 6 man rotation after the ASG. Especially if we were to make a trade for Scherzer.
    • Thank you for your advocacy for Jackson on CF position.  My reasons almost same as yours .  Having said that , Jackson should also work on 2B .  There’s too many players and limited positions , ABs have to be rationed as well.  The upcoming deadline will likely reveal who’s staying and who’s leaving.  In the meantime , they should let Jackson heal any injuries and refine his positional skills
