How Nelson Cruz beat aging

That's not the point. The point was anyone could endure a season ending injury and that's not an excuse to not sign someone.

And if you want that to be the point Cruz had a better year at 33 and currently at 34 than Manny has ever put together in a single season even though some think he's a MVP caliber player.

Cruz ismore of the MVP caliber player at the age of 34 than Manny is at 22

No.

The point is you erroneously stated that Cruz has not shown himself to be an injury risk.

He has, in fact, missed substantial time to injuries over his career.

How are you judging "better year"?

I am guessing in a manner that doesn't involve looking at defense.

No one argued that it was a reason not to sign someone. But injury risk should always be taken into consideration and you certainly have to consider the 34 year old DH with a history of injuries to be more of a risk than a 26 year old CF who had been basically injury free aside from a fluke sprained ankle in 2009.

If you think a high-performing 22-year-old who's been established in the majors since he was a teenager is more of a risk than a 34-year-old DH I'm not sure you understand what risk is.

Weams. Mannny has had two gruesome injuries, one to each knee. You seen the plays. He did nothing unordinary. Yes to me he is more of a risk of enduring a career ending knee injury than cruz.

Ppls bodies are different. Manny could have bad cartridge. Just because he's younger means nothing.

OMG. Cruz has never had a season as good as Manny's 2013 season. Cruz has played in parts of 11 seasons and has been worth 18.5 rWAR. Manny is 22 and has played in parts of 4 seasons and has been worth 12.3 rWAR.

That's going to be because Manny Perry's great D.

Ppl can keep hating on Cruz for not playing the field. But Ortiz, a career DHer, won a MVP
