I doubt Heyward gets much more than 20 M AAV unless his contract is for few years. Much of his value comes from defense and the longer the contract the less value that has.

You wouldn't give Trout 6/370 if he was a free agent today!? I do wonder what he would get. He has an established level of 9 wins. There can't be 10 players in history who can say that.

I'd assume that the combination of mistrust of defense metrics and the idea that defense peaks early means he'll get less than another player of similar production that's more offense.
