That's a great deal for Miami. Sadly, it probably means they're going to trade him in a couple years because he'll be attractive to other teams.

Huh. That's probably a good deal. Although Gordon's a BA/speed/durability guy, I guess there's some risk that if he loses a step, maybe gets banged up playing second. About as good as you can be with a 4% walk rate and an .080 ISO.

He should have taken Washington's extension offer.

I like him as a guy. I wouldn't give up a pick for him, and I wouldn't pay him near what he wants, but I wouldn't mind him on the team as a super utility/Hardy insurance.

Whatever happened to just plain old utility? I thought Super was reserved for Ben Zobrist and Tony Phillips. Compared to them Flaherty is Aqua Utility, or maybe Wonder Twins Utilty.

I disagree with you about being a 4A player.

Do you remember 2014? Flaherty played very well at 3rd, after Manny went down, and Hardy came back from the DL.
