AAAA Loogy. 25 years old, been almost exclusively a reliever since advancement to AA in 2012. And a really good one. Career minors K/9 is 8.42 and career minors WHIP of 1.09. Could translate... at least he's competition for McFarland and makes it easier to non-tender Matusz. The M's got him from the Rays just 27 days ago.

Optioned in 2014 and 2015... so one left? Assuming so, this is just a spectacular deal for the O's. (Makes sense for the Mariners too, actually... saved a bunch of money and solved the backup catcher position.)

Not to rehash, but Clevenger was going to be released or primarily DH/PH. If we re-sign Davis Trumbo gets the role Clevenger would have had, and he'll be vastly better at it. Plus a LOOGY with K/9 over 8 (and an option?).

Yep. He won this trade in a big way. Now, lets keep it going and real. This team very obviously can not afford to pay any player in the neighborhood of what CD is asking for. Trumbo is CD's replacement. Lets move on. We still need to add a couple of OFers. LH hitters. Speed. And another starting Pitcher. Nothing that will break the bank, just mid tier guys. Maybe sign O'day and deal Britton for a haul? Maybe trade Matusz this afternoon for another teams non tender candidate that fits our needs.
