Bud Norris and Arodys Vizcaino?

I apologize, it was not meant as an attack at all. The reason we can't get a top of the rotation starter is because no one, not even Dan Duquette, can put together a realistic package to get one without depleting the major league team. We simply do not have the horses in the minors to acquire a frontline starter.

No worries. I don't disagree with you. I guess bottom line is don't go out and get mediocre pitching. I would rather try Bundy or maybe Sedlock surprises.

Please no more Feldman type deals!

Would be nice if the Orioles got lucky on an acquisition. IMO they are a top of rotation starter away from really threatening for WS title.

Bundy is not even a blip on the consideration for rotation starter for 2016.

Not in this system.

Your posts aren't making much sense. Yes, we need an explanation about his low SO number, but there's been a lot of positive talk about him, and anytime you have a lefty starter that throws as hard as he does and gets people out, you have a significant asset. One of the Boston Globe writers pointed him out as a player scouts were gushing over in ST.

Not sure who's numbers your looking at, but it isn't Bud Norris. He has a 4.22 ERA and is averaging almost 8 K per. Tell me how that isn't better than Ubaldo/Wright?

Bud Norris 2016

10 starts, 5.02 ERA

12 relief appearances 1.96 ERA

Combined 4.22 ERA.

If the O's are looking at him as a starter the 5.02 ERA is more relevant.

Yeah I misread it. The Orioles have said they are looking for a LH SP. I guess we're looking at depleted the farm for guys like Rich Hill.

A Feldman type would be a good target. What Feldman did in 2013 would be gold for us now. I feel pretty confident that if we trade for such a pitcher, we will not trade away a future Cy Young Award winner to get him.

Bud Norris April

5 Games, 5 Starts 8.74 ERA

Bud Norris June

6 Games, 5 Starts 2.08 ERA

Good point.

Bud looks like he found it in June. If he keeps doing that in July he will be a good trade chip. Salary remaining about 1.25m. I am not sure what the O's would offer for him. There will probably be a lot of competition for him if he keeps pitching well.

Atlanta has been very focal about wanting high draft picks.
