People get real sick of watching players strike out. Especially on pitches in the dirt. And watching superstars routinely thrown out on the bases. It's pretty obvious actually. No question at all.

Actually there are about 50 other factors that play a much bigger role than this. See one of the many other attendance threads we've had.

Also I'm not sure what team you're watching that has "superstars routinely thrown out on the bases." The Orioles hardly ever attempt to steal at all.

It's probably not this simple, but attendance was up last year because of the playoff run the year before. Specifically, because those of us who bought playoff games also had to buy season ticket packages. Last year we stunk, so there was no artificial market for tickets the following year (this one).

Probably other factors too, of course.
