Playing the long game, what's the post-AJ plan for CF?

Don't forget signing Ubaldo and Gallardo meant giving up 2 #1 draft picks.

...and trading Matusz and a comp pick for 2 organizational arms.

...and trading Webb, a catcher and a comp pick for Ben Rowen

I had forgotten. He's made so many moves to hurt the system that people around baseball talk about it on a regular basis.

Worth pointing out is the play Adam Jones did not make in the 7th today probably cost us the game.

I think that is a play that an average centerfielder makes and someone like Kiermaier makes it look routine. He did not seem to get a good read on it (was not in full sprint to the location of the ball) and then he tried to pull off a basket catch in a situation where a normal back hand would have been a better choice.

We have a really bad OF defensively at this point, which I think needs to be addressed in the offseason. Adam is below average in center and our problems in the corners go without saying.

Yep, like I said, if you move Jones to RF and get a good defensive CF you kill two birds with one stone. Pun not intended.

Here's a thought. Maybe we can turn this into a bash Dan Duquette thread. Wouldn't that be fun?
