I got a few thoughts on it...

 

 

Though it actually does shock me a bit. Isreal won a "play in" tournament while Korea is considered a big powerhouse for the WBC. This was the March Madness equivalent of a 15 seed beating a 2 seed.

I was watching a bit this morning.  Israel had the bases loaded in the second.

The Korean pitcher, a lefty, was trying to paint the outside corner against EVERY right handed hitter he saw and not having much luck.  Middle outside to low outside every pitch.  He walks in a run, the #9 hitter (righty) for Israel comes up and proceeds to swing at three straight balls off the outside edge of the plate.

Just brutal to watch.

I also watched Fuld make a heckuva catch in center.

Israel is an underdog, no doubt. But two very different games were played very well by them.

Definitely a team to watch out for.

Japan just lost a hr to replay.   Up 2-1 on Cuba.  Some nice outfield defense.
