Agreed with that. As fan it's great. As a player, whether you get traded or not, it has the potential to be sucky.

Yep. For some guys, they get to go to a much better situation and have a chance to win a championship. For others, its the opposite. And from the personal perspective, their lives are generally turned upside down. Like someone mentioned yesterday, I am never going to forget Surhoff's reaction after he was traded to the Braves. That was so tough to watch.

Think we could get one of Cleveland's young starting pitchers like Clevinger or Bauer?

As far as prospects go, I'd target Diaz, Mckenzie, and then a lower tier, closer to MLB pitcher like Morimando or Merrit

I hope to good not Bauer.   He is not very good and has not got any better.

McKenzie or Mejia would definutely be the centerpieces types id expect in a britton deal.

McKenzie, Chang/Jones, Yandy would be a nice haul imo.more tgan Chapman deal, little less than Miller deal.

They aren't trading him, he's in the conversation for best prospect in baseball. I've watched him play a lot this year, he's the real deal.

I didn't think so.  I'm not excited about a package headlined by McKenzie.  He's really talented but I'd prefer to get position players.  He's too many pitches (injuries) away from the bigs.

I think DD won't trade Britton unless we get a Chapman haul from the Dodgers or Astros.

The Indians farm doesn't seem like they have many choices.

I could get behind a package headlined by either Francisco Mejia or Triston McKenzie.

I'm thinking Castillo will have to be traded in August or not at all. He will clear waivers right away and then we have to hope a team has a need. Probably an injury.

Smith might be the only guy to go today. If Smith doesn't go, I think that lets us know that we really do believe we're "in it."  Or that there was just no market whatsoever.

I'm late to the Indians talk. Gotta become an expert by reading an article. Lol. Just from here, Meijia is off limits and Tristan just isn't a baseball name.

The Orioles have plenty of good players that they can throw in to sweeten the deal. Go for broke and trade Brach in with Britton. That would really move the needle for their new team.

I think you devalue your players when you combine them like that. Especially when they are the two main trade pieces.

Combining Castillo and one of Brach/Zach or Smith and one of the relief guys is a different story.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
