I understand the argument for not keeping him (I wanted to trade him before last season), but if you are asking would I take a year of Manny plus Ryan Mountcastle — I’m ok with that.  To trade him you have to get a top 100 guy plus the equivalent of one year of MM for it to be better.  Not sure you can get more than the available pick.

I am going  to go with 90 wins.

Starting pitching

The O's have 4 solid starters.  Cobb should lead this staff.  His experience along with 4th starter Cashner should help Bundy and Gausman reach their potential.   They will be watching each other pens and be a tight unit.

Tillman looks no better than last year.  Gives up runs in the first two-or three innings and then pitches better.   This should last for about 10 starts before the O's make a move IMO.  Watch Harvey's progress.  We may see him in the majors for a while.  Cortes is likely to get some starts.  Last year Dan picked up Castro on the 7th on April.  He will try to find a gem again on a low cost deal.  A veteran start may be the order of the day in July.

Pen

Britton sounds like he will be ready before May 28th and will give the O's 4 months of closing.   Brach, O'Day and Givens are solid.  Castro in ready to perform at a high level out of the pen.   Buck will be selective on the use of Arraujo and he should be fine for the season.  Bleier has an option. Joely Rodriguez and Edgin are knocking on the door.   Nice depth to have in case of injuries that will happen at some point. Cortes is the long man for now.

Position players

This is Manny and Jonathan's team.  Yes,  Adam is the captain but the team will follow the two youngster and they will both have big seasons.   Mancini is ready to take  another step.    I look for average years from Davis. Jones  and Trumbo. Beckham should play third well but he is likely  see the DL at some point.  Valencia and Sardinia will fill in but make us wish they had re-sign Flaherty when we endure their defense.  I expect Hays to push to join the big club by mid season.  Rasmus probably loses playing time to him in right.   Santander big spring will probably level out and he could be optioned sometime after the 44 days.   He is a good player for the future and maybe soon than I think. But Hays offers more defense and all around play.  Pedro will slam a few homers before Trumbo returns.

Sisco appears to be  a hitter for average with some power.   Russell will teach and he will get better behind the plate. He is part of  the future of the O's.   Joseph should benefit from the not having to carry more than half the load.

I think the O's will battle with the Twins for the 2nd wild card and  i would not be surprised to see them beat out the Red Sox if they slip at all.
