Who’s your 2018 back-up team?

With the O’s hopelessly out of it, do you have a back-up team to root for the rest of the way?    Not necessarily a team you’re passionate about, but just a “best of the rest” team?

For me, it’s undoubtedly Nick Markakis’ Atlanta Braves.    I’d love to see Nick back in the postseason and would be thrilled to see him get a WS ring.    And the rest of that team is fun to watch.

The Braves clinched the NL East, so they’ll be moving on to the playoffs.    Gausman, Brach and Flaherty are on the Braves in addition to Markakis.

The Dodgers (Machado) currently lead the NL West by 1.5 games, while the Brewers (Schoop) have a 2 game lead for the first NL wild card spot and 3.5 for the second spot.

Could be a lot of ex-Oriole watching in the playoffs.

The Orioles and the White Sox have never lost 100 games each in the same season in club history (1954 - Present), or franchise history (1901 - Present.)

Come on, White Sox ........ avoid 100 losses.

The White Sox lost today, finishing with an overall record of 62-100.

For the first time in 118 seasons, these 2 franchises have lost 100 or more games in the same year.

That's about as bad of a 1-2 punch that anyone's personal fandom can have in a single season.
