Heard earlier that Joey Rickard is in Kansas City with the team.

Now, either someone is getting traded (Gentry?), DL'ed (Mullins?) or he is getting an early start on the roster expansion for Saturday.

Stay tuned for more!

My vote, early start on the roster moves,

They are just trying to be a thorn in the side of some of their competition.

Yankees used to do the same thing.

Maybe, but Sherman said it was surprising.  He's a veteran reporter, he probably wouldn't find it surprising if O's were doing this just to block teams. Who knows? Maybe they claimed some controllable players who have a shot to contribute down the road.

Why would a team try to unload an controllable player, unless they are making too much, or under producing.

If Joey is in KC then Norfolk only shows 10 position players on the active roster.  And two on those  are catchers.    I hope no one gets hurt.

And they play two games in 90 degree heat today.  Their normally scheduled game and the completion of a suspended game.

You wouldn't take a shot on a controllable player who is under producing if the Orioles think he could be better than say Joseph or Gentry or one of our starters?

at this point, no, I am looking at a 2-3 process to build and field a competitive them.

but, hey, who knows, Ive been wrong before.

Contribute down the road? This team is toast for several years.
