Many years ago my car broke down at night on I-95 and I coasted off of the Russell St Exit.  An off duty MTA Bus was behind me and stopped and drove me up to Pratt St which I really appreciated.  When I got back to the car the next day it was broken into and looked like someone slept in it.

Yeah there's a well-established homeless camp right there now. Maybe your car was patient zero.

The area around the stadium and the adjacent lots is very safe until the crowds disappear. The area around the casino is well-patrolled as well and I'd be comfortable walking around at night. The stretch between M&T stadium and the Horseshoe parking lot is largely deserted and might provide a mugger (or strangler!!!) an attractive workspace. Agree with others who have said that while there are very real risks walking around Balt - or any city - at any time, you should be OK. Would I walk it at night with 2 or 3 buddies? Absolutely. Would I walk it with my daughters? Far less likely. YMMV.

At the Harmon Killebrew statue, near Target Field.

It did not occur during a game, but thank God that they caught most of these perpetrators.

It's definitely not a good idea to park in Minnesota when going to a game in Baltimore.

Is it safe to walk from Oriole Park to bus station at 2110 Haines Street after a night game? If not, is there taxi service available at the stadium? I'd hate to use a taxi, Uber, Lyft - it seems like it's a short one mile walk. Would appreciate some advice. Thank you.

Nah. Not if you are solo.  Call an Uber/Lyft.  Hell, I'll pay for you one myself.

If you are walking ALONE and on the path that I think you would, you are only fine until you pass the backside of M&T.  From what I remember, you would be walking under 295 then up a huge stair case and back down.  That area is not well lit, very deserted, etc.  You would be a walking mark for someone to rob.

If you are with some people, that's your call.  A crowd of people could be going to the casino and you would probably be OK.

IMO its not worth it.  Walking the streets of south Baltimore at night and solo....is just not smart.

Since I started regularly attending games in the early 2000's I've driven through that area before and after games to get to parking. It is not the most well lit area (between M&T and the casino), and I wouldn't personally walk through there at night. I rarely attend night games anymore, not worth the risks.

    • Yes and at one point was a higher rated prospect in their system than Aaron Judge. It took awhile with the bat but he was always an amazing athlete with the ability for defensive wizardry.
    • Does anybody know that he is an ex Yankee?
    • I put this ridiculousness in the game recap, but I think it belongs here as well.  Using AI you can really make some crazy stuff. 😂 https://suno.com/song/8f21dd9e-af4e-4284-9f23-c566260ca6ce
    • A buddy of mine made this with his AI. I figured I’d just put this here. 😂   https://suno.com/song/8f21dd9e-af4e-4284-9f23-c566260ca6ce
    • I was listening to MLB Prospects podcast last week. They talked about Gillen, and mentioned a lot about how he may be the best high school hitter. However, it’s a tough call where he’ll go because of a weak arm. They said the arm was injured, a right labrum, and his arm strength is not back after two years. So, probably wasn’t going to be a SS anyway when said and done due to size, maybe a 2B/LF or CF profile due to the weak arm and 60 speed. He was projected to maybe become the top high school player in the draft as a sophomore, but injured the shoulder and had some other injuries that have held him back. It is going to be interesting to see where Elias goes with picks 22 and 32. I would like to see Gillen there, but I think he’ll be gone. Kellon Lindsey is interesting, and maybe Billy Amick, along with one of the previous college hitters you mentioned will sneak through. Lindsey is rising fast.
    • A good friend of mine coaches college baseball.  He’s studied and dedicated his career to understanding how humans move. Not all humans move the same way.  An incredible talent could potentially be taught to move against his body’s preference and fail.  New wave progressive coaches understand how various body types work and the nuance to teach/coach them effectively.
    • I'm still trying to figure out how this guy is out of the majors for 7 years and somehow manages to pick up 2 MPH on his fastball, at the age of 34.  But hey, I'm not complaining.   Statcast loves him so far this year.  Statcast thought he was a little unlucky in his last stint in the majors, and unsurprisingly they think he's getting a little lucky now, but even accounting for his good luck he's still in great pitcher territory.
