1. Buddy of mine who is a Red Sox fan called it the MLB catch of the season. Gotta admit, the Davis to Alberto flip was pretty sweet.

When you compress the season into 10 great plays you can forget that they only won 54 games.  In my mind they're already a goofy bunch of guys on our team we can kind of look back fondly on, kind of like the 1988 Orioles.

I don’t think a hit is a “play” three home runs is great but “great play” implies defense.

Richie Martin made a splendid play early on that should be hear. A hard bouncing grounder took a wicked hop and Martin had to do a complete 180 to grab the ball and still got the out. That reaction to an unexpected bounce was just amazing. That play should be here somewhere and the hits should be in a separate category.

All in all, I think the Wilkerson catch deserved its no. 1 spot.
