When the Yankees' centerfielder caught that long fly ball that Mountcastle just hit for the Sac-Fly, he seemed so disheartened with his body language immediately following his catching the ball ...... it must have felt demoralizing for him to see an already significant lead be added to by the opponent this late in the game, even though he recorded an out in the process.

He caught the ball, and he immediately dropped both of his arms and appeared to sigh ...... it was like he was saying to himself, "Damn, I'm not even going to even fantasize about the possibility of throwing out the runner tagging up at 3rd base."

So, the blurb says “Kremer took the roster spot of David Hess, who was....”

Why didn’t a useful guy take the spot of a useless guy long ago?

Yes, maybe Kremer will pull a Mike Wright, and give two great starts, followed by three years of terrible starts. But he needs the opportunity, and Hess doesn’t.

Hess pitched 7 innings this year.

That girl that did the Canuck anthem and then the SSB on guitar last week... Now SHE'S up on my list!

Did you hear Yankee broadcaster Suzyn Waldman do the anthem a few weeks ago?   She did a really great job.   I had no idea that before she went into sports reporting/announcing, she used to be on Broadway.
