-- The carnage with runners in scoring position continues:
-- Twins series:  Orioles are 0/24 with RISP
-- Since last Monday the Orioles are 4/56 (.071) with RISP, 40/162 (.247) without a runner in scoring position
-- Starting with the second inning last Sunday in Washington, the Orioles are 4/63 (.063) with RISP.

Another loss.

But on the encouraging side, the Orioles were 1/7 (.143) with runners in scoring position, a full 72 points higher than they have hit in the past 7 games.   Way to go Orioles!   They ended an 0 for 27 streak in the 10th when DJ doubled and scored the placed runner scored.   That's right, the Orioles had been 0 for 27, the equivalent of being no hit for 9 innings, with RISP when DJ got that hit.

So since last Monday the Orioles are 5/63 (.079) with runners in scoring position.  They are 45/190 (.237)  during that time without RISP.   Dating back to the second inning on Sunday the 23rd in Washington, they are 5/70 (.071) with RISP.

Losing is a culture, and the Orioles have built a tradition of it. Buck Showalter and Davey Johnson were able to break the tradition briefly.

Exactly! It’s all about coaching and getting the most out of the players you have. You don’t need to have a bunch of all-stars, but this team is severely underperforming and that goes squarely on the shoulders of Brandon Hyde and his sorry coaching staff.
