Shuffling 4A arms to keep the bullpen fresh.

I'd hate to see how they would perform if they were fatigued.

This is so much better than the old days in which the team would bring up exciting young players to get them some ML experience and perhaps give them a good stepping off point for the offseason.

The “only 2 players” call up restrictions hurt that.

Kriske has great K rates in the minors.  He was destroyed in his short time on the Yankees roster

I haven’t checked, but I think we’ve had several guys who”….has great K rates in the minors,” and come up here and got whammed. I would much rather have a guy with an average K rate, who doesn’t walk anyone.

yeah, yeah, we’ve had some of those guys and they also got whammed, but still…

Which is why Elias didn't do it in 2019?

I’ll have to double check, but wasn’t that a year where they didn’t have anyone “young and exciting” to call up and instead had a returning Trumbo, Scott, Kline, etc, plus there was still the question about the Arizona Fall League and whether players on the 40 would be eligible or not due to the early start?

I was beating the drum pretty hard for Mountcastle to come up and get some time in the outfield.

Why is Eshelman up? He’s terrible. Watkins is better and he’s fresh too, having thrown two clean innings on Friday.

They are both bad, but Watkins is coming off a decent bullpen outing. Perhaps he does have a sore arm because Eshelman has pitched to the tune of 7.80 ERA at Norfolk. I can’t think of any other reason for swapping the two.

So when does Ryan Ripken get called up?

When the Giants call him up.
