2023 payroll

I was going to wait until we've been mathematically eliminated before really switching gears thinking about 2023.  But it seems like conversations are already heading that way.  

There are some key decisions that need to be made heading into 2023.  But the budget will determine the menu of options Elias has.

For context, $150m(ish) is the average team payroll in 2022.  O's were under $50m (depending how you define payroll, much lower).

I know different sites use different inputs, but I think the B-Ref format can get a trend of attendance/payroll.

I've seen others post some pretty good information regarding income/expenses.  So whatever data you may have to add would be great...

 

What do you think the payroll budget will be for 2023-2024?  And why?

Ideally, this thread isn't to discuss what you would do with the budget.

I’ll venture a guess at a $40-60 mm jump.  Looking at other teams that have rebuilt pretty drastically, that seems to be pretty typical for a single-year increase when starting from a very low point, once the team is ready.
