Kevin Brown absence explained?

Maybe John Angelos was six martinis deep in his owner's suite, upset over who knows what else and Brown was just the outlet for his aggression.

I kind of wish this was the likely case, but it's even worse. He can't even (likely) blame this on alcoholism. He's just a small, petty man who is absolutely unrelatable to the every man.

Modern social media is trash in so many ways, but this is the type of thing it's good for. Angelos has gotten massively dragged by this. It's the type of story that will stick in the minds of people for as long as he's here. He'll never have a positive image unless he either 1) has a total public mea culpa or 2) does so many good things that people let this go.

But he doesn't seem like the type of person who's capable of either 1 or 2. Winning will help, but this isn't 1980. People will literally boo him when he hoists the World Series trophy at Camden Yards. I hope to be one of them.

Just because Rob Long (not a MASN employee, btw) doesn't have first-hand knowledge, doesn't mean we're all just guessing.

You're ignoring an overwhelming amount of reliable reporting to make a statement like this.

"Reliable reporting"?  Could you please direct me to a quote by anyone who actually knows, and I'll withdraw my opinion with apologies.  In the meantime, I smell something else in the air.  Now, Brown could go public and clarify everything.

Contractually he probably can't go public, nor should he. Potential future employers probably respect that he's keeping his head down and not out there on a media crusade looking for self-promotion. Angelos has done the PR work for him anyway.

Brown is a class act. By all account, a good guy. He’s not going public with anything. There’s no upside in doing so anyway.

So could Angelos/the Orioles.

And we've been over this.  Britt is extremely reliable.  Tony and Roy Firestone have reported on it.  The Athletic and ESPN have reported on it. Other broadcasters are talking about it.  Thjese people have sources...

So what you're saying is that you don't consider Britt Ghiroli to be reliable. Are you familiar at all with Britt's work?

You're also saying you don't consider Roy or Tony to be reliable, as they've both independently confirmed the rumor as true.

Then Quote the sources.

The other head-scratcher here is how the O's somehow thought this suspension wouldn't get picked up on. They literally hired a high-profile, dedicated PR specialist to handle media and content integration this past off-season, someone who ironically enough had a history of bashing Angelos on Twitter.
