Guessing they wanted Burnes to be fresh for the All Star Game.  Otherwise I can't think of a good reason for it.

Strikes out on a hanger down the middle in the bottom of the 2nd. Then in the top half, botches a potential DP and gets 0 outs, and lollipops a throw to 1st on the next play. Yeah, I think Mayo can do that.
