I think if someone offered me 88 wins and we could just sit in the clubhouse rest of way and no more injuries but guys start getting healthy for playoffs I would take it at this point.  Would you all?

If 88 wins would guarantee me a payoff spot and Eflin, Coulombe, Westburg, Mateo, Grayrod, and Webb back I would be ok w/ it.

They’re 73-53. 36 games left. To get 88 wins they’d need to go 15-21. Basically winning 2, losing 3 the rest of the way. With a sub-performing Burnes, and the rest of the rotation being Kremer, Suarez, Rogers, and Povich…that seems very likely. That said, playoffs last year Wild Card records:

Tampa - 99-63

Rangers - 90-72

Blue Jays - 89-73

Now, there isn’t the O’s/Rays crazy -100 win teams this year, but 88 wins might still not do it.

Yeah I don’t see them playing .632 baseball rest of the way.   I think it would depend on what they actually know about GRod, Eflin, Westberg, and Coloumbe.  If On September 15th they think one or less is back then I take it.  If they think 3+ of the 4 are back I don’t take.  If they think half are back I need to sleep on it and decide after tonight’s games. Lo,

88 is not going to make it. There will be a bunch of teams close to 90 wins.

The Red Sox have to go 26-12 to get to 90.  Tampa would have to go 28-10.  To beat us they are not getting to 90.  They probably don’t get to 88.

I would definitely trade health for wins as long as we make the playoffs, but there is no causal linkage (unless you are suggesting to IL the entire roster)i. Might as well try to win the games.
