Maybe, just maybe, theres a ray of hope

The most plausible playoff scenario, from the standpoint of good results, is that Burnes and Eflin = the Rangers Montgomery and Eovaldi last year. One P that had been with the team all year, and one trade deadline acquisition, pitching lights out for a nice stretch. That isn’t all that far fetched really. It’s what provides me the most hope. A few taters, and those two getting/staying on a roll for another month, isn’t all that hard to envision. And that’s really all it would take.

However, for all who believe that the postseason is all about randomness and luck. I guess we will see if those who told us that were right all along.

What outcome(s) would demonstrate to you that postseason success is largely down to randomness and luck?

If the Orioles (or another team) performs better in the postseason than they did over the course of the regular season like say the Rangers and Diamondbacks did last postseason.

Just as they look like they’re turning it around they pull this crap again. This is an average team whose record is below average because they are horrible situationally, and they have shown that the last 3 months.

Westburg, Urias and Mountcastle are coming back.  We will have better infield defense and much better RH hitting options.  O'Hearn can go back to being a platoon player or pinch hitter.   The O's team that goes to the playoffs will be better than the O's team we've watched lately.

Jordan Westburg would have turned that double play today.

They are going to get blown out tomorrow. Suarez has been awful in his last 2 home starts.

Tigers starter is listed as TBD. Sad that the offense is so in the toilet that we can't even entertain the idea of winning a slugfest.
