I dont disagree ...But he should be rebuilding the player personnel ...Dealing Jones, Hardy, Reynolds, Guthrie and anyone else who has good value.

So he should just do it now, even if he's not getting what he wants for them, or hasn't made his decision about who to trade? He should do this because Johnny needs to see something happen NOW?

Hopefully he will get there. In a lot of ways overhauling the rest is even more impressive. It might take him a bit to turn the tide fully but there is a greater chance we will have better talent evaluators and developers when we do trade those guys.

Hes trying to drag us into the 20th century, get us to drive a Geo Metro rather than a horesless carriage.

He is doing more for the fans by doing things the right way.

No reason he can't do both. I doubt that we've blown the budget on Lee Thomas and Fred Ferreira.

There's plenty of players to acquire and plenty of time to do it.

He's just got to do it.

No ....The Orioles need to get off the fence. Either spend the money necessary (You Know Rabble Rabble:rolleyes:) or rebuild the friggin team. The Orioles are not going to win with Jones here because he's not staying past his contract unless the Orioles give him a stupid deal. Hardy & Guthrie's value will never be higher.

With the team we have now we are almost a definite last place finish in the AL East next year. What is the point to keeping Jones, Hardy, Guthrie, or even Wieters for that matter if we are already penciled in as a last place team. May as well blow it up for some great talent to come in around the same time as Machado and Bundy.

I'll give DD a little bit longer than 2 months to decide how he wants to proceed. Of course, he could already have decided to trade people, and just hasn't got what he wants yet. Or, any number of other reasons for not doing it right now.

In addition, Hardy's not getting traded. He signed because of stability, and it would be really poor business to just trade him away now, as he was apparently given some assurances that he won't be moved.

Plenty of reasons. Maybe he thinks the value will go up. Maybe he thinks teams will be more interested when the FA market clears. Maybe he thinks Wieters signs an extension, and will be a part of the next contender.

Just a side note, it would be incredibly stupid to trade Wieters now, as his value figures to significantly improve if his hitting continues like it was at the end of last year.

Thats doesnt make it the right move. If 2012 really doesnt matter there are plenty of good glove/no bat SS's out there. They could bring back Izturis. The Orioles told you they werent rebuilding when they said their core players were untouchable. We must believe Roch when he says the Orioles arent giving $20M foe Fielder ....But we dismiss it when he says the core is untochable.

Wieters should be the only offensive player they are hesitant to trade. If they are offered the house for him than they should consider doing it.
